+ Hands-off driving law is ok'd for ages 16 & 17
+ This morning I read an article on a new law that takes effect on July directed at 16 & 17 teenage drivers. In the text I read that Schwarzenegger signed a legislation yesterday that will make it illegal for drivers younger than 18 years old to be playing with their cell phones, laptops, and cameras, etc. while driving. If caught breaking this law, the fine is $20 for the first time and $50 for the subsequent times. Research shows that it is very dangerous to be driving and using an electronic device. Teenagers must understand that it's okay for drivers that are at least 18 years old to drive and use the cell phone hands free but 16 & 17 year old drivers CAN NOT use their electronic devices AT ALL.
+ After analyzing the article, I don't understand why we can't all drive and use our cell phones hands free. But I do agree that it will probably be a lot safer on the road if teenage drivers choose to obey this law and focus on driving safely.
+ Interesting Fact: Half of teens in survey admit they use gadgets as motorists. =[ burnnn.

- The San Diego Union Tribune
- Hands off driving law is OK’d for ages 16, 17
- In this article I read about the new driving law that Schwarzenegger signed. - It says that young motorists caught using gadgets face fines. This happened in Sacramento governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has sent a message to young drivers: no text messaging, no cell phone calls, no using laptops. At least not while behind the wheel. Schwarzenegger signed legislation yesterday that will make it illegal for drivers younger than 18 to engage in such activities. He says “ it will save lives.” senator Joe Simitian said that it is that simple. He is a Palo alto democrat who carried the measure senate bill 33. Schwarzenegger's signing ceremony in redwood city took place almost a year to the day after he approved legislation that bars all drivers, regardless of age, from using hand held cell phones while navigating the road. But the new law tightens restrictions on 16 &17 year olds by prohibiting the use of any kind of cell phone while driving. “ if youre 18 its hands free. Its hands off if youre under 18.” simitian said.
- I think that this article is pretty lame because I do not agree with this law. I say this because I don’t think that it is fair to us. I feel that he thinks that we are stupid or some thing.
- one interesting thing that I learned is that there was a law restricting us from using the cell phones while driving. I have done that several times and I think that the police has even seen me but I guess I have just been lucky.

The article that I read this morning can be found on cnn.com. This article was about a man who was walking his pet chi Wawa and out of no where his dog was brutally attacked by a pit bull killing his dog . The man was enraged with anger. He then made a very dumb decision and decided to kill the pit bull to get his revenge he began to drag the dog along the street .some one had spotted this vicious crime and wrote down his license plate number. He was charged with animal cruelty and was sentenced with a 10,000 dollar bail.

'Hands-Off' driving law is OK'd for ages 16,17.

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has made it a new law in the state of California that new young drivers under the age of 18 will be fined for driving while on the phone, texting, and no laptops. People have put in their own opinion about the new law. This new law is going to help construct a better and safe environment for each other. Some say that the new law should affect every driver, not just the young ones. Arnold believes that this law will help prevent more accidents. This new law will be going into affect July 1st.

I think this new law is a good idea, i don't like the consiquences. If you are caught driving while on your phone, you pay a fine of 20 dollars. The next will be 50 dollars. If the price was a scary price, it would get more people my age to not use the phone.

GANG MEMbER SENTENCEd iN FATAL SH00TiNG.

This morning i read an article on a gang member that was sentenced in a fatal shooting. He is being charged with First Degree Murder after her had willing shot a girl in the Bay Vista Complex off logan avenue. Officials believe that theyre were two other people involoved. Because "Brown" one of the gang members taht was involoved took a big significant part in the crime, he was the one driving 15 year old Rico Flowers to Bay Vista Complex. Rico Flowers faces 50 to life in prison. And Darrall Brown faces 57 to life in prison. The girl that was shot was completely innocent, she just happenend to be there at a wrong time and was shot and hit in the heart.
I felt really bad for this girl, because she was innocent and she hadnt done nothing to them, and she died at a cause of gand-related activities. She wasn't even involved in a gang. I just know to stay away from the Bay Vista area cause its dangerous.

ANGEL BLAZE BLAMED ON ILLEGAL CAMPFIRE

The Angel fire in Julian was caused by an illegal campfire, investigators say. It burned several structures and forced hundreds of people to evacuate their homes this past weekend. This was the second illegal campfire in San Diego Country this week. The fire charred about 1,300 acres near Julian. Three firefighters received small injuries trying to battle the blaze Saturday. About 120 homes were evacuated in a couple communities and some of the hundreds of residents in Whispering Pines were allowed to go back home. Close to 585 customers were left without power yesterday in that city and power was expected to come back to half of them last night. An official said the fire became 60 percent contained last night and is supposed to be fully contained by Wednesday.

I think people shouldn’t start fires in the forest if it isn’t safe. I don’t like that two of these fires have happened this week. I think that if the people get caught, they should serve a lot of time.

Schools and businesses in the area will be open today.

Feds OK to seize only half a house in drug case
In Branford, Connecticut in 2001 police raided a teacher’s home by the name of Von Hofe. Who they found 65 home-grown marijuana plants when authorities enter the house. Also finding glass pipes substances in the home. Harold and wife Kathleen Van Hofe, pleaded guilty as well while in court faced front of the supreme court. Both avoided going to jail, but received probation time. Which means any little thing could get them throw into jail time. They are now being tested and checked on to make sure there is no use of the illegal drug. One thing I didn’t understand about this passage is that usually, when people are found with an ounce or so more than that, they get jail time w/ no other choice. But this teacher and wife avoided jail time and got probation, or maybe I’m wrong because it’s their first time getting caught but still. One thing I didn’t really like was that they court seemed to not have took this job as serious as other peoples cases, well not only cause there’s different judges but it’s a different state, and I don’t know about the laws in Connecticut. But I believe it still isn’t fair, I think things should all be fair. But life will never be that way, so I guess we all have to get used to it.

I was reading this really interesting article in the newspaper. The newspaper was talking about a really controversial theme that has resurfaced in the U.S. The theme is racism and segregation. A boy was arrested for attempted murder and is being tried for and adult even though he is only like 16 or seventeen. The fight between six black boys and one white teen broke out because of segregation in the boys high school. The result; the white boys get no punishment for the noose they planted on a tree were the black boys wanted to hang out that was formerly for whites only, and the black teens were prosecuted as attempted murder.

Union tribune: Officer run over as 2 inmates escape prison.
In Huntsville, Texas two inmates working in prison field overpowered a guard Monday and ran her over in a stolen pickup truck. They killed the women as they fled. One of the inmates was caught within an hour. A man hunt was underway for the second. Stetson a lawmen could be seen in the nearby fields with bloodhounds checking in the brush. The missing inmate, Jerry Martin, 37 had been imprisoned since 1997 and was serving 50 year sentence for attempted murder. Martin and John Ray 40, were working outside the Wynne Unit of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice on Monday morning. They overpowered the officer about 10:30 am. They took her weapons and stole her truck. They then ran over the officer. Falk had been serving a life sentence since 1986 for murder was caught. Also in Utah two men escaped on Sunday Danny and Juan Carlos. They jumped a fence at the Daggett county Jail. They were discovered missing during an inmate count at 8 p.m. – six hours after they were last seen. I think that jail should be more disciplined, I mean those people are in there for a reason and they should not have privileges. I believe that even though they are in prison they get a lot of accommodations and that is not ok.
