U.S History Womens rights:
Paragraph 1: Before the war a women's role was to take care of the children, cook and clean. During the war a women's job was to nurse wounded soldiers and work in the factories, basically the women took some of the men jobs when they went off to war. After the war women started to get more respected and recognized. This part of time hasn’t really affected time today but there are still some women who stay at home take care of the children cook and clean while the man goes to work. During the war lots of men thought it was wrong for women to do man work and some thought women couldn’t be as strong as a man.

Paragraph 2: A women that had helped out a lot was Harriet Tubman. She was born a slave in 1920. She also had a very rough life growing up. Harriet was taught underground railroad from her first escape to freedom. Her escape was planned by a white neighbor of hers who had the heart to help her out. When Harriet was free she had made a plan to go free the rest of her family that was in Maryland. Lots say that Harriet was very spiritual and always brought god into her life when she needed help. Some also say that she was to be her peoples “Moses” because she was such of a help to them. After the close of the Civil War she had returned to Auburn NY gotten married and lived in a souse they had built in the South. Till this day that house still stands.

Paragraph 3: My personal opinion is that it is wrong to stereo type a women on if she is any better than a man, because I know of some females that are good athletes and some better then men. Although I think that It should be up to the women if she wants to be a stay home mom. Even though some men come out to be stronger than women females can still do men work.

Before the World War II had ever started where they were in need for more production of supplies, women didn’t really have jobs where they would get paid. Before wartime jobs women usually stayed home as house-wives, some had no education and couldn’t even read. They were usually cleaning the house and taking care of their kids, they never really did much that was away from their homes. But once World War II started many of these women’s husbands were in combat. The war needed many war-like products to be made, so they decided that the only way to win victory against the Axis Power was if they had more people back at home producing war materials. That was when Roosevelt and others decided to let women into the work force to create war products so that victory could be made and there would be peace for all. Another role that women played while war was on was to entertain the people back home by playing baseball, so that way the people at home wouldn’t be depressed from war and would spend money to go see women play. But then once war was over women were expected to go back home and do the same things as they usually did before the war. Many women today have been able to become a lot more successful then they once had a chance to before. Today you will see women doing many things that they once weren’t capable to do. Women could now work and get paid for the jobs they do. Before there was much more sexist against women then there is now. Women were doubted to be able to do anything else but stay at home, women were always visualized as feminine nicely dressed, and didn’t have no opportunities to get out of their house to work and get paid. This opportunity for women has opened many doors towards women becoming successful. Being able to work and getting an opportunity to go out and something better with our lives, means a lot to us. But still today women are sometimes doubted to be capable of doing things as good as a man can. I believe all women should ignore what others think about them, and just go on chasing what they want to become, if we girls work hard we can achieve are goals no matter how difficult they can be.
Nancy Potter was a young high school girl who lived on a farm in eastern Connecticut. Nancy was very aware of what was happening during the war not only because of the news, but she had a pen pal that lived in England who would write to her about the war. Nancy and many other students started to realize that this war was going to be a lot more difficult. This meant that not only men would be serving and taking place in war but also many others including young girls and boys. Nancy was only 16 when she had to attend college for a short period of 2 years and 8 months. For that short time period where she and many others were also sent to college, she had no breaks of nay kind. Her and many other young students were sent off to college at an early age to study about the things that needed to be done in war in a short time so that they could be sent off into combat or serving as a nurse or pilot what so ever. As for Potter she attended college to study things related to what nurses did. Nancy left college at 19, and was sent to a hospital to cure those who had been injured. Nancy has come to believe that they were to young too see all what was going on. There was much work for her to do, it had been a terrible experience for her and many others to go thru. As for what Nancy Potter has believed she states that from her generation that had to be witness of war, were forced to grow up prematurely. War had changed their lives forever, visualizing life, death an values of life in a different way. For them their lives were more difficult to go thru then others who have not been in an actual war where many youths were needed, where they saw many lives in danger, and many others dying in front of them.
I think if I had lived during the time World War II had occurred life would have been hard for all of us. But one thing is that the world isn’t as beautiful as they say it is. I mean yeah of course this world does consist of beautiful things such as nature, but besides that there are many things place on this planet along with the beautiful things. In this planet live many horrible things that people don’t want to know of or don’t know about, like people dying, or getting abused or rapped. The cause of all those horrible things is a horrible person who has no heart and enjoys seeing bad things happen to others, they enjoy harming others, and reality is not everything here is beautiful. But we can really do over come the bad and move on and make something better out of ourselves. Try to work together to make this a better place for us all especially for our kids.

Para 1: Before the war women’s role was to do house chores, make their husbands happy and look pretty all the time. During the war they had to take over the husbands jobs. They had to work for a living. They also started playing sports to entertain the people that did not go to war. After the war society expected women to go back to how they used to be. They expected them to stop working and go back to doing nothing but taking care of the family.
Para 2: Women would only be home at the beginning of the war. They would stay at home feed their husband and look pretty. But everything changed when WW2 started. They needed woman to do a mans job. They were not used to working in factories. They were not used to being away form their children. They had to learn how to support themselves and how to work. Many women liked the idea of working because they had never had an opportunity for society to see what they could do. They could now depend on themselves. Society did not really like this at first. They were worried that when the men came back their women would be rebellious. Most of the women that were married stopped working when their husbands came back. Many thought fought for staying in their jobs. They were now able to decide for themselves. Women grew in society.
Para 3: I believe that world war 2 was very good step for women. Probably if this had not happened we would not be so independent. Now a woman is running for president. That is a lot of difference form back them. Now most men think of us as equal. Women are accepted in businesses and that is a good feeling for every woman.
