Judgment won't ease family's pain.

A San Diego woman by the name of Marla Ann Bennett was killed by a bomber in Jerusalem five years ago. Her death has recieved an inheritence of $13 million in judgement against Iran. Marla's parents sued the Islamic Republic of Iran and its intelligence ministry after the death of their 24 year old daughter. Marla died in the bombing at Hebrew University. Marla was a graduate in Judaic studies at Hebrew University. She sat down in the cafeteria for a bowl of soup when a home made bomb exploded outside the cafeteria. She died within minutes.
I think its pretty sad that someone who was going to school in a different country dies from a bomb. Of course the family should be upset but i believe that many other people should be paid money for their deaths, or no money at all. It is not the Iraqi governments problem for deaths that happen at a school. Instead, they should improve school security and do something to keep their government from doing so much. If deaths like this happens too much, then they'll just keep paying money to families. I think if the government changes some laws, then things will improve everywhere.

Title: San Diego Union Tribune
Today I read about a brush fire spanning about 500 acres northeast of Julian prompted authorities to urge all the city’s residents to evacuate late yesterday afternoon. Law enforcement officials stopped all but emergency traffic on roads leading into the historic mountain town. Also, the red cross set up evacuation centers at Ramona and Borrego Springs high schools. Around 8:30 p.m. an increase in humidity had slowed the fire and firefighters had it about 10% contained. An unknown structure had burned and three firefighters were injured, two of them were members of a prison inmate crew hit by a falling tree near Angel Point. The third firefighter twisted his ankle. The blaze, called the Angel fire, was reported at 1:29 p.m. near Camp Stevens. It subsequently grew in rugged and mountainous terrain and was buffeted by irregular winds. The cause was unknown last night. Generally the fire was burning near state Route 78 between Farmer Road, just north of Julian, and Whispering Pines Drive, northeast of Julian.

BUS CRASHES KILLING 17

A bus that was traveling from Phoenix to Mexico City crashed on Saturday killing at least 17 of its 35 passengers. At least eight bus passengers were United State citizens. The Americans were visiting Mexico for the Mexican Independence celebration. They had gone to Mexico to be with friends and family to celebrate a holiday but their celebrations turned to disaster after the bus crashed killing eight and injuring the rest. Between the deceased there was a one year old child. The bus was headed to Guadalajara, Jalisco, when it suddenly it plunged to a ravine near Compostela, about 125 miles from Guadalajara. The driver was also injured and was hospitalized. Four of the injured lived in L.A. and Riverside. At least eight of the passengers were from Phoenix. But amiss all this the celebration of independence went on and many visited the zocalo were the president of the republic would give the grito de independencia. it is significant to point out that things like this happen all around us but we don’t realize it until we hear about it or read about it in the news.

I think that it is sad that someone so innocent can die just like that for no reason and they couldnt have done anything to stop it. i think that even though they sued the republic of iran i think that the money that they are going to get will never heal them from the loss of their daughter.

♥ San Diego Union Tribune

♥ This morning I read an article on O.J. Simpson case. It all started when O.J. Simpson went to a Las Vegas hotel room to reclaim personal items he says were stolen from him in the first place. The funny thing thing is that he did not consider calling the police because he says they are too unresponsive when he's needed them in the past. O.J. says that whenever he has had to call the police for help, tomorrow's news is another O.J. Simpson story. Simpson says that he is at the point where he does not rely on the police anymore and he decided to construct a plan & take matters into his own hands that day. O.J. Simpson says that his spirits are high and hopes that people realize that this incident is not about HIM stealing anything. The funny part about this whole story is that the man who allegedly called the police is now the one saying he does not want to testify against O.J. Simpson. The man's name is Alfred Beardsley and he is a collector of the memorabilia in Las Vegas. Alfred is now saying that he does not want anything to do with this trial anymore because he has health problems and this case is drama. Plus, he's saying that he has no desire to fly back and forth to Las Vegas to testify. Beardsley said he called police only becasue the items were valuable not because they were stolen, he would be held accountable for all the stuff.

♥ I feel like this has really gone to far into the media and it shouldn't have. It's obvious that he is not going to jail so I feel like he should just have to pay. Whatever the outcome, I don't care and it shouldn't be such a BiG dEaL! =0!

♥ Interesting Fact: If O.J. Simpson got away with murder, wrote a top selling book on how he did it (how he killed his ex wife & her cha-cha), then WE ALL KNOW THAT HE WILL MAKE HIS WAY OUT OF THIS CASE.

With new editions to the Patriots offense it should be difficult for the chargers secondary to stop Randy Moss and Dante Stallworth. The chargers offense line has been stronger than ever with fresh people linemen and a game plan to stop Shawn Merrimen there is no telling the out come of this game. The two things that fans should be looking at is LT dominating the pats defense, and the chargers defense pressuring the pats offense.

A town council in Germany decided to make a significant change in their traffic control. They are trying to construct a way of causing less accidents. In Bohmte, these rid of all traffic lights and stop signs. This is supposed to make life easier for pedestrians. This idea came from a Dutch traffic specialist, Hans Monderman. I think that if all traffic signs, etc., were to disappear, it could cause complete chaos. It possibly might even cause more accidents in my opinion.

Is Anything Private Anymore?
People all over are asking, how can you live in a digital world and still have privacy? Now and days you can view many things on the internet. Especially when you are a computer wiz. Google has a website where they take pictures of different cities at their normal daily basis. This new Google page is called Street View. Many have been found doing things that others may not have known about. And in some cases for the more grown people it is a disturbance to see pictures of them on the internet for everyone to view. For teens this invasion of privacy is not a big deal. But later in life they will start to believe that it is a disappointment that they aren’t able to maintain any privacy. On the internet Facebook and Myspace are very popular where people chat and keep up to date with friends. These online websites may seem so fascinating when one is bored. But reality is that the chances of ruining ones reputation are much greater on the internet. Being that one could easily login onto someone else’s profile and screw everything up for the other person. I believe that if people want more privacy then they shouldn’t get Myspace or Facebook. And that a better choice would be to stick with chatting online on messenger with a different name or so. But also people have to respect one’s privacy and maybe Google is going too far with taking pictures on Street View. I thought there was a law on the certain things people can take notes or pictures of and what is considered invasion of their privacy.

-The san Diego union tribune
-Tenor with glorious voice brought opera to masses. In Calcutta India, devotees across the world including in Tijuana held roman catholic masses, candle professions and interfaith prayers yesterday to mark the 10th anniversary of the death of mother Teresa. Calcutta Archbishop Lucas sikar celebrated a morning mass attended by nuns and volunteers at mother house. The headquarters of the missionaries of charities order she founded in 1950. hundreds of her supporters followed the prayers with candle light processions at clinics and schools that mother Teresa opened. In Calcutta slums and impoverished neighborhoods during her nearly seven decades in India. They offered flowers at her tombs and later participated in in an interfaith prayer session organized by Calcutta's all India minorities.
-I think that this article is pretty interesting. Mother Teresa was a very great woman. I think that they are doing right by celebrating the tenth anniversary of her death.
-One interesting that I learned is that before she died she had 4000 nuns and ran 600 orphanages,.

Union tribune: Out of jail after killing preacher husband.
Today I have read this article. Mary Winkler is a woman from Huntingdon Tennessee who convinced a jury she was physically and emotionally bused by her preacher husband before she shot him to death. Now that she has had a short sentence she want to try and get her children back. The paternal grandparents are trying to strip the mother of her rights so that they can adopt the three girls of ages 2,8 and 10. The termination of parental rights is allowed if one parents “wrongfully” kills another. The man was killed with a shotgun blast to the back in March 2006. This occurred at his Church of Christ parsonage in Selmer. She is now out on probation and wants to construct her family back. People think that she paid her debt to society and you cant punish her again. I agree that she did pay her debt but it is not ok to kill someone specially if you have kids with them. Also I believe that she should be supervised if she does get her children back. Something very significant is that if she is ill like she said she one day just might go crazy and feel like mistreating her children. Every one should be aware of that and they should identify if she is ready to be alone.
