Title: San Diego Union Tribune Today I read about two sites, one in Chula Vista’s bay front and the other on rolling open land on the city’s east side are emerging as the leading candidates for a Chargers stadium in South County that could cost as much as $1 billion. The San Diego Chargers paid $220,000 to the design firm Cooper, Robertson & Partners to rank four locations in Chula Vista. The firm, based in New York, evaluated size, availability, parking potential, transportation access, environmental concerns and commercial development prospects. The top two sites are the 139-acre bay side parcel where the South Bay Power Plant operates and a vacant 500-acre parcel one mile east of state Route 125 and about a half-mile south of the Winding walk at Otay Ranch neighborhood. In summary the city of Chula Vista can be a strong contender as the new home site of the Chargers, the study concludes. The city has at least two viable candidates that can support a state-of-the-art stadium as well as ancillary development.
A boondoggle at the border The Us Border Patrol will no longer be seen in that funky green outfit you’ll mostly find them in. They now have a new uniform, which is said to look more like military. Which also indicates that they will now have more business to take care of. They will now wear suits that are not as heavy as before for easy access way to whatever cases maybe. This will be much more comfortable for the border patrol during their hours working. Not only will they have a new change of wardrobe but also will receive better weapons to work with. The frontier will increase it security with new changes as well. A 50-man company named McQ from Stanford County was hired on a $100,000 contract to produce their product called “smart rock”. The department of Homeland Security has assigned McQ to develop this new system which is made of acoustic and motion sensors. This new development will help detect illegal immigrants who are sneaking across the border. The control at the border has now been added as a primary part of the military-industrial national system. Long purposed to protect from dangers and keep the US at safety. This sucks for those people on the other side who are just to come to the US to make a better life for themselves and their family. But hopefully someday everything will be better for everyone. Which I have some doubt on but I now there is hope to find a day and life full of happiness and peace.
In Salta, Argentina three Inca children were entombed on a mountain top 500 years ago as a religious sacrifice. Of the mummies, there was a maiden, a boy and six year old girl. Studies of their clothing and bone structures, show that these children were possibly considered royalty. Only beautiful, healthy, physically perfect children were sacrificed and it was an honor to be chosen to be entombed in the mountains. The reason why certain people were chosen to sit on the mountains were because of their religion, being picked to sit on the mountain and sacrifice yourself was to join your ancestors and watch over the villages from the mountain tops like angels. Crosslegged and sat up right. The six-year old girl's body had been struck by lightning at one point on her face and upper body. Archaeologists felt different about studying the bodies because they were stuck into their sleeping positions. They felt as if it was more of a kidnapping than archaeology work. They are also keeping track of keeping the bodies fresh by keeping the temperature low in their part of museums.
I think its amazing that they could find bodies in the mountains. They know for sure that there is plenty of more bodies in the mountains, but tribal people who live in that area told them not to take anymore bodies from their resting place. They came to terms with the three bodies they have already because that is basically all they need for their experiment. I also think its cool how the bodies were still fresh, nothing was eaten away because it was so cold for anything to survive. All three died in their sleep.
Two sites are leading as spots for the Chargers’ stadium in South County. One is in Chula Vista’s bay-front and the other on the city’s east side; costing as much as $1 billion. The Chargers paid $220,000 to rank four locations in Chula Vista to the design business Cooper, Robertson & Partners. The firm that is based in New York evaluated size and all aspect of concern. The top of two of the sites is located at a 139-acre lot where the San Diego Power Plant operates. The other on is a 500-acre parcel 1 mile west of the Lower Otay Reservoir. The stud says that Chula Vista is a good contender for the new home site of the Chargers. The new stadium will be state-of-the-art.
I think that San Diego should stay at Qualcomm because otherwise would be a waste of money. Our stadium is good the way it is. If they do move, like they will, I think they should go to the 139-acre by the power plant.
There was also two other sites that were considered in Chula Vista.
Today in the newspaper I was reading a very interesting article about some mummies that were buried in the Argentinean mountaintops. The mummies were preserved in perfect conditions because of the weather and the climatic conditions. There were three mummies in total and they were all children a girl of 15, another of 6 and a boy of 7. They were all sacrificed and it was a privilege to be sacrificed only the most perfect looking children were chosen to be sacrificed and they were believed to watch over the indigenous people. Some scientists have dug up the mummies and have studied them carefully and put them in exhibit. Yet it is remarkable how they have survived in perfect condition for more than 500 years.
♥ Around Our Region ♥ This morning I read news in brief summaries of county wide interest. In Chula Vista, former city engineer Scott tulloch has been named Chula Vista's assisstant city manager for development services. He is replacing former assisstant city manager Dana Smith. Also, Lake Morena water is declared safe for drinking. County officals say the water from a small system at Lake Morena is now safe to drink. The county lifted a boil-water order yesterday for the Lake Morena Views Mutual Water Company, which serves 118 home, plus a barber shop, and a gas station. Last, I read about an ice cream social being held to raise money for a survey of Chula Vista's historical buildings. The Ultimate Open House Ice Cream Social will on August 18 in the historic Queen Anne-style home of Chula Vista's founder, Col. William. ♥ The most interesting I read about was that the lake water at Lake Morena was declared safe for drinking.
I read about Iraq outlook is grim. There was a stark assessment yesterday by the nations intelligence agencies depicts a partied Iraqi government. The assessment known as a national indolence estimate casts strong doubts on the viability of the bush administrations strategy in Iraq. The report also implicitly criticize proposals offered by democrats including several presidential candidates calling for a withdrawal of U.S.. David pertains the latest U.S. commander in Iraq have turned Iraq citizens against armed groups putting them on the run and fracturing them. Two southern pored many allege by the Mahdi militia. About one-third of the U.S. casualties have been in Anbar province but that’s shifted since the troop increase began. In August about 10 percent of U.S. casualties occurred there compared with 30 percent in January when the buildup began. Shiites are fighting each other for control of the southern provinces. Will I don’t think that it is good that we do not go to war cause a lot of people are dieing. Will I think that the war is misting us up cause we don’t need to go to war. There is a lot of kids die in the war and that’s not good cause there moms are sad that they are die.
DEMOCRATICS MOVE TO THE CENTER ON IRAQ. Today i read baout the democrats leaders in congress and how they decided to shift course and persue modest bipartisian measures to alter us military strategy in Iraq. hoping to use inscrimental changes instead of aggressive legislation to break the grip Republicans have held over the direction of war policy. Standing agianst them will be president bush who intends to use an adress tonight to try and ease concerns that his Iraq strategy will lead to an open-ended military commitment. I think that this is good because thye shouldnt be going out and just starting way with everyone if they dont have the story right or if they think that it is them that did something because even though alot of them are getting killed, so are us soldiers. bush has expected to announce his plans to reduce the us troop presence in iraq by up to 30,000
A surfer rescued a dog from drowning in a lake. This happened In Grand Haven, Michigan. A surfer rode his board on his stomach to rescue a dog that had been swept off a pier. He was pulled into the lake by a wave on Tuesday. Matt Smolenski said he grabbed the dog’s collar right as he gave up paddling. He was a black-and-brown mixed breed. Witnesses said he put the dog on his board and he rode it to shore. I think that is very admirable and heroic. Its sweet and touching.
Union tribune: Border Patrol agent to be tried in federal court. In Tucson, Arizona a U.S border patrol agent is charged with murdering an illegal immigrant. He will stand trial in federal court instead of state court. Agent Nicholas Corbett is charged with the death of 22 year old Francisco Javier Dominguez of Puebla, Mexico. He died in January north of the border. A judge approved an uncontested request to send this case to federal court. They want to take this to trial as soon as possible but it is said that it wont happen until next year. Agent Nicholas Corbett has pleaded not guilty. I think that if the should put him on trial as soon as possible because if he is innocent he will get out and not have to do time for something he did not do. Another reason would be because if he is guilty the family of this young man should be able to know that the man was punished.
