Kids A Startes Fires.
They are stating that the fire in Los Angeles was started by a young boy playing with matches. When they put out the fire the investigators came in and stated that the fire was started with matches, they started to gather witness and a young boy was a suspect in the setting of wild fires. After the sheriff of Los Angeles finished speaking with the boy it was conclusive that the boy started the fire. Also the boy admitting to playing with matches in that area. The boy is now with his parents. The boy should serve some time or do community service or help clean up the mess he made with the fires. The fires burned 38000 acres, and 63 structures that were destroyed. Three civilians and two firefighter were injured .
The article I read about today was about a murder suspect. Twenty seven year old, David Sauceda, escaped from a county jail by giving another inmates identity. Sauceda was charged in the November 2006 killing of a San Antonio man, and with robbing a 59-year-old woman after binding her with duct tape. He gave the name, address, Social Security number, birth date and system ID number of his cellmate, Michael Garcia. The authorities didn’t realize he was gone until about six hours later. An unidentified person has posted bond for Garcia, who is in jail on a felony auto theft charge. Officer Tafolla said that when he called Garcia, Sauceda stepped up and repeated his cellmates information. Tafolla said that Sauceda and Garcia are member of the Mexican Mafia.
Reflection
I think that this article is very interesting. I like reading articles and watching shows that have to do with jail things because of the career I want to do. This article seemed interesting so I decided to read about it and write it.
Fact
In the article I read an important fact that I read about was that Authorities from san Antonio south to the Mexican border were searching for Sauceda, who is considered armed and dangerous.
In the TEXT I was reading I found some interesting news. Washoe was a chimpanzee that had learned American sign language. She died at the age of 42 on Tuesday, October 30th. The chimp was adopted by a pair of scientists who lived in Nevada when she was only ten months. The scientists played a major ROLE in her development. They AFFECTED the way she communicated with the world. By the age of 5 she had already acquired enough signs that were comprehensible. The scientists used various STRATEGIES to teach the chimp new words. It was a breakthrough in science when the chimp started responding and VOICING her thoughts by using her knowledge of sings. All of this new discoveries created a POSITIVE response from other scientists until a scientist stated that all that new breakthrough in science was just a stage. He said that the chimps only responded mechanically and that there was no way a chimp who could really think and communicate like a human could. Since then many have been skeptical in believing that chimps can actually have coherent thoughts. The evidence is there for those who need to be convinced
In an article titled Hollywood writers’ talks yield a cliffhanger, published by the San Diego union Tribune on Thursday November first I read about some very intriguing problems that TV and films is being faced with. In the article I read about possible strikes writers are going to take because of money issues. The writers waited out their contracts and are now threatening a possible strike. This strike affects writers in both TV and film and both for the same reason. They are trying to get more money now that DVDs, the internet, and cell phones have come about making their show more profitable. Though the affect on most television shows and films will not show for at least a year some shows that rely on current events will take a big hit. Shows like the late night shows will have to run re runs, Saturday night live will also be effected though this weeks episode will not be effected.
The fact that these writers are taking action for their money is inspiring. The writers should receive more money because their product is raising more money
